The biggest story on the S/Pro Alpha C BOA is shell construction. Salomon reworked the relationship between the lower shell and the upper cuff with a fixed-attachment system. Inside the lower shell, the cuff extends farther down than a normal overlap design and bolts to the arch rather than the ankle, creating a noticeably different feel when you flex.

Fischer makes its priorities clear with the RC4 Free Pro. This is not a lightweight touring boot pretending to be an alpine boot, it's an alpine charger that can go uphill.
