The Wasatch Mountains harbor some of the best skiing you'll find anywhere in the western United States—anywhere in the world, for that matter. Narrowing down the best lines in this mighty range is no easy task, but in 1998, Andrew McLean published a book titled The Chuting Gallery, which detailed the mightiest steep skiing in the Wasatch. People have been chasing those routes ever since, but last winter Mali Noyes set a new record, skiing all 93 lines in just 47 days.
When FREESKIER talked with Noyes in the spring after news of the accomplishment broke, she was candid about the experience and, rightfully, elated to have her name etched into the history books. Now, she's releasing a full web series showcasing everything that went into this mighty (possibly psychotic) adventure.
Check out Episode One below and circle back every week for a new chapter.
From YouTube:
Welcome to Rapid Fire — the series recounting my attempt to ski The Chuting Gallery as fast as possible.
The Chuting Gallery is Andrew McLean’s legendary guidebook to steep skiing in Utah’s Wasatch Range — 93 iconic lines that have inspired skiers for decades. With Rapid Fire, my goal was to ski them all in record time and share the full journey along the way.
In this first episode, I introduce the project and kick things off with three classics: East Twin, Stairs Gulch, and the Great White Icicle.
Tune in next week — I’ll be dropping a new episode every week for the next 10 weeks.
