With $15,000 on the line, the wind and weather didnât stop competitors in Trysil, Norway for this yearâs Sweet Rumble big air. After the dust had settled, Americaâs superhero Bobby Brown emerged victorious over Germanyâs Bene Mayr in the final round of head-to-head jumping.
After the first round trimmed the field down from 16 to a manageable eight, the knockout rounds began in a one-jump format, similar to Stockholmâs King of Style.
First Round:
"âJF Houle defeats PC Fosse with a double cork 1260 blunt to shifty.
"âBobby Brown defeats Elias AmbĂÂŒhl with a double cork 1260 mute poke.
"âBene Mayr defeats Markus Eder with a double cork 1080 safety.
"âKlaus Finne defeats Andreas HĂ„tveit with a double cork 1260 mute.
Second Round:
"âBobby Brown bests JF Houle with a switch double rodeo 900 japan.
"âBene Mayr bests Klaus Finne with a double cork 1080 safety.
Once the finals were set with Bobby vs Bene, the format changed to a 3 run format, where three different jumps were to be thrown. Details are sketchy, but Bene Mayr failed to land a double cork 1260 and couldnât cleanly stomp his double cork 1080s. In the end, Bobbyâs double cork 1260s sealed the deal. JF Houle defeated Klaus Finne with another double cork 1260 blunt for 3rd place.
