Many would argue that skiing and art are inseparable. Each turn a brush stroke on the canvas of the mountain... or some sh*t like that. But it seems to make both skiing and art more special if we accept that not all skiing is art. Skiing is highly diverse in its disciplines and approaches, and some simply descend the mountain in search of the fastest route. Art requires an air of intentionality, and therefore, most movements on snow are not art.
That's not to take away from anyone's fun. Things can be extremely worthwhile and, at the same time, not be artful. This dichotomy doesn't diminish certain areas of skiing, but it draws attention to parts of the sport that are done with immense intention; a complete lifestyle. Something that goes far beyond the turn, and instead reflects a larger way of living.
"MIMIC" is a prime example of this full circle. The first full-length project from Queen of Corbet's Piper Kunst, it's impossible to ignore the precision poured into every frame. From the start, we're met with a blend of incredible riding and masterful cinema, all overlaid with graphics and painting montages crafted by Kunst herself.
The project has earned respect worldwide in freeskiing, recently winning the 2025 Victoria Jealouse Best Female Action Award from Teton Gravity Research. Original and inspiring by every metric, you'll be better off having had "MIMIC" in your life.

We’re fired up to announce the 2025 Victoria Jealouse Best Female Action Award winner: Piper Kunst in MIMIC.
Named after TGR legend Victoria Jealouse, this award honors women redefining what’s possible in the mountains. Piper delivers on that promise, blending progressive skiing with an intimate, artistic look at the pursuit of creativity and performance in MIMIC.
Directed by Hadley Michaels and Piper Kunst, the film follows Piper as she navigates life as both a professional skier and an artist. The project centers around the creation of a large-scale studio art piece that mirrors her experience on snow, exploring the connection between movement, self-expression, and personal growth.
