If freeskiing is about creativity, then Red Bull Unrailistic might be the pinnacle of freeskiing. Led by the mythical lord of rail skiing, Jesper Tjäder, Unrailistic has been groundbreaking since its inception. While massive kickers and huge airs are a usual staple of big freeski expositions, this event stays true to its namesake and focuses on the biggest and craziest rail features you've ever seen.

Located in Åre, Sweden, the event is set to throw down on April 30 and May 1. We've seen a killer roster in the past, but this year's crew might take the cake. Olympic medalists, X Games winners, World Cup champs; you name it, they're here.

Confirmed riders include Tjäder, Max Moffat, Andreas Håveit, Hunter Henderson, Emil Granbom, Rylie Warnick, Elena Gaskell, Elias Syrjä, Tucker FitzSimons and more.

The build this year is madness, brought to life by a very talented park crew. Skiers will have their plates full with options, including multi-material rails, a disco box mini ramp, one of the biggest rainbow rails on earth, a battleship box, side-by-side S rails, the mind-bending "plinko rail" setup, and a myriad of ending features.

Unrailistic has been far from an overnight success. Tjäder's brainchild is the culmination of dedication and ingenuity, mixed with a life devoted to sliding metal. "For me, creativity is what pushes freeskiing forward," says Tjäder. "Red Bull Unrailistic is about building what we’ve always imagined — and seeing what happens when the best riders bring it to life."

We've already seen a few clips of the Plinko Rails being laced by Tucker FitzSimons, among others. The crowds will soon pack the stands around this insane course, and the energy is sure to be all-time in Åre this weekend. You can tune in from abroad with the livestream, 10 a.m. MST, May 1. Be sure to check back in with FREESKIER for words, photos and more from the event when it wraps.
