When we reported last week that the East Coast received its first snow storm of winter 2016-17 , the whole FREESKIER office was psyched. Last season was a really tough one for the region, plagued by high temps and low snowfall all around, but this one is looking much better already.
And now, we’re extra -psyched because even more snow has fallen and the East Coast appears to be in full winter swing before November has even arrived. Killington opened on Tuesday , various other resorts throughout New England are slated to spin lifts in the near future and things are looking generally stellar. In some areas of Vermont, up to a foot of snow came from the latest storm, prompting skiers to dust off their gear and get some early-season turns both on-resort and out of bounds.
The Farmer’s Almanac called for a snowy winter on the East Coast , and that prediction appears to be accurate so far. Here’s to hoping it stays that way.
