MoonPay X Games Annouces Three-Stop Winter Tour and Schedule for 2027

Historically, X Games has always just been a single weekend competition, but the newly launched X Games League (XGL) is now changing that by expanding this year's tour into a multi-stop global circuit. 

Yesterday, MoonPay X Games League announced its 2027 Winter Season dates for its inaugural season, as the competition will now be a three-stop tour across North America and Europe. The first stop is January 29-31 at Buttermilk, the longtime home mountain of Winter X Games , in Aspen, Colorado. The tour will then head north February 19-21 to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and will eventually hop across the pond to Ruka, Finland, April 9-11. 

This one-weekend, exclusive competition design was partially based on the fact that athletes originally competed for individual medals only. But now, with the creation of XGL, athletes will not only be competing for individual medals but also team points. The league is split into four teams representing different cities: XC Golden State, XC New York, XC Park City and XC Whistler. 

Athletes for each team will be drafted September 16 at the MoonPay X Games League Winter Draft. There are a total of 180 skiers and snowboarders in the draft pool and you’ll see famous freestyle skier names like Eileen Gu, Alex Hall, Kelly Sildaru and Henrik Harlaut along with many other freestyle skiers we love to watch.

The atheletes will still compete for individual medals at the competitions, but those medals will now also earn points for their team's standing. Instead of separating the league by skiers and snowboarders, as most winter competitions do, the disciplines will work together to earn points for the first-ever MoonPay X Games League Winter Championship, where only one team can win the title in Ruka. 

The competitions will still run on the same world-class, action-packed weekend schedule with live music at each stop to keep the party going. Marshmello and ZHU will be playing in Aspen, Steve Aoki and Levity in Calgary, and Adriatique in Ruka. Tickets have now dropped for each location, starting at $160 for a three-day pass at Aspen and Calgary and 129 € for a two-day pass at Ruka.
