FREESKIER's Trailer Time is back for the season, and this list is stuffed to the brim with some of the finest work we've ever seen. It seems like every year, the bar for ski films gets exponentially higher. More filmmakers have better production capabilities than ever before, resulting in a wide array of films that explore a multitude of stories and themes from the wide world of skiing.
When it comes to ski film trailers, this is your holy grail, your perennial arc of the covenant, your national treasure, if you will. There's no better way to get fired up for winter, so kick back, grab a snack and dive into the best that skiing has to offer. You might even be able to see some of these projects on tour this fall, so keep your eyes peeled. Without further ado, it's Trailer Time.
Editor's Note: This is an evolving list, in no particular order, and will be updated as more trailers are released.
"ENDORPHIN"
Hunter Paull, Manon Loschi
As the first solo project from Manon Loschi, "ENDORPHIN" sets the bar sky high. Cinematic wizard Hunter Paull makes it happen behind the camera, as Loschi's deep bag of tricks and smooth, composed style are on full display with a wild mashup of features and towering lines, all brought together with creative editing and masterful filming.
Featuring: Manon Loschi
"Out Of The Ordinary"
Head Skis
HEAD & Tyrolia are back with their third team film, titled "Out Of The Ordinary." Jeff Thomas takes the creative lead behind the lens as he chases this talented, wide-spread crew around the globe. The Head pro team is indeed one of the most stacked rosters in the game, and this trailer is a great reminder of exactly that. A more traditionally-styled ski movie, expect lots of big lines and thumping music throughout this one.
Featuring: Abel Moga, Jess Hotter, Xander Guldman, Hedvig Wessel, Tao Kreibich, Emil Granbom , Sam Cohen, Jenna Keller, Jordy Kidner, Ian Morrison, Meg Cumming, Evan Mceachran, Jonathan Rollins, Zoe Atkin, Cole Richardson, Jesper Tjader, David Meier, Adam Kuch, Len Kohler, Luke Miele, Floyd Guy, Oliver Movenius, Sandra Eie, Stephen Lindsay-Ross, Steven Kahnert, Sven Pillex, Joel Macnair, Sabrina cakmakli, Aksel Lund Svindal
"TKO"
MAGMA
The iconic trio of Owen Dahlberg, Alex Hall and Hunter Hess has yet to disappoint. This will be their sixth full-length project as a unit, and it seems like each one manages to top the last. Dahlberg's signature style of cinematography and editing is as unique and mesmerizing as any. Combine that with Hall and Hess, who managed to stack clips in the streets while training for the Olympics and competing on the World Cup circuit, and you've got a frontrunner for film of the year. Plus a Tom Wallisch segment? We're sold.
Featuring: Hunter Hess, Alex Hall, Tom Wallisch, Max Moffat, Nalu Nussbaum
"Inaccsessible"
onX, Griffin Post
There are 16 million acres of inaccessible public land accross the U.S. These regions are surrounded by private land, leaving them off limits. Or are they? Griffin Post, Eric Jackson and Emilé Zynobia team up with onX in this new film to explore Montana's Crazy Mountains, navigating the challenges that come their way while bringing attention to the important issue of public land access.
"Subtle"
Edward Clem, Delilah Cupp
Blending traditional ski shots with POV footage and sleek editing, "Subtle" throws a remarkably enjoyable twist on a big mountain ski project. Delilah Cupp and Celeste Pomerantz have been on our radar for a while, and the two form a duo that complements each half perfectly with strong yet creative skiing. Be warned, many pillows were demolished in the making of this film.
Featuring: Delilah Cupp & Celeste Pomerantz.
"Too True."
Entourage
Bozeman-based Entourage has led the way for independent ski crews over the last few years. Doing it for the love of the game, this group has stacked some of the most impressive segments we've seen in recent winters. But it's not the individual that makes this one shine. While each rider can hold their own with the best, the overwhelming camaraderie on display here is what keeps Entourage in a league of their own. Street clips, pillow lines, kickers, pow fields; you'll find it in "Too True."
Featuring: Jasper Skidmore, Daniel "Chop" Johnson, Luke Price, Rylan Messner, Ben Smith, Nicholas Johnson, Andrew Bird, Jack Price
"inefficient joy_"
Simply. Recreation Club
Led by Laurent De Martin and Sampo Vallotton, Simply. Recreation Club has been on a mission to redefine what a ski company can be. Much like their skis, the films produced by Simply.RC in recent years have been wildly innovative and a breath of fresh air for the industry. This year's offering takes us in a new direction, as we witness an AI model try to grapple with the perils of skiing. A masterclass in editing, filmmaking and skiing, "inefficient joy_" is one you won't want to miss.
Featuring: Laurent De Martin, Sampo Vallotton
"æ¤åˆ» : NOW"
Cole Nelson, Hugh Saint-Jacques, WeiTien Ho
This personal project from WeiTien Ho had us hooked in the first few seconds of the trailer. "æ¤åˆ» : NOW" is a portait of Ho's 2024/25 season, masterfully captured by Cole Nelson and Hugh Saint-Jacques. From traveling on the Freeride World Tour to finding time for backcountry missions, this poetic piece will be one to keep in mind this fall.
Featuring: WeiTien Ho
"ORNADA"
Armada Skis
The long-awaited team film from Armada is dropping with high expectations this fall. After watching the trailer, it's fair to say that "ORNADA" will not be a let-down in the slightest. It's no secret that Armada's team is an amalgamation of legends and rising talent, so to see these skiers all sandwiched into one massive project is a dream come true. Check out the ORNADA Live Experience film premieres to catch the movie alongside a soundtrack played by a live band.
Featuring: Tanner Hall, Dani Bacher, Olivia Asselin, Kim Boberg, Mike Hornbeck, Sammy Carlson, Quinn Wolferman, Henrik Harlaut, Rell Harwood, Keagan Supple, Kuura Koivisto, Toby Rafford, Todd Ligare, Phil Casabon and more
"CONNECTED"
Caution Media
The young guns at Caution Media exploded onto the scene last year with "Whispers," a film that blew us away with filmmaking as creative and impressive as the skiing. Behind the lens, Josh Fairmont and Ollie Smith seemed to hold nothing back, and they've brought that same mentality to this year's project, "CONNECTED." What this team lacks in experience, they more than make up for with talent and creativity. Keep an eye on Caution Media this fall... and for years to come. Â
Featuring: Westan Lubin, Kaz Sosnkowski, Oliver Smith, Dodge Woloson, Benni Soloman
"Up & Go"
Hunter Henderson, Jack Benziger
"Up & Go" marks Hunter Henderson's first backcountry part. Normally found putting on a clinic in the park during the competition season, Henderson teamed up with filmmaker Jack Benziger and the two headed off in search of deep landings and deeper turns in Alaska, British Columbia, Utah, Wyoming and Japan.
Featuring: Hunter Henderson
"RIFF"
Dynastar Skis
Dylan Flinders and Alex Lundstrom have helped bring Dynastar into the modern age of freeriding over the last few years. Their new project, "RIFF," is a reflection of exactly that. Deep pow, big lines and everything you'd expect from a pair skiing on the Dynastar M-Free series. The trailer feels like a big-time production, which is a testament to the caliber of skiing and filming that went into this one. Catch the full project on the Level 1 YouTube channel this fall.
Featuring: Dylan Flinders, Alex Lundstrom
"Duo"
Mac Forehand, Jacques Price
This project from Mac Forehand and Jacques Price has been in the pressure cooker for two years, slowly marinating into something special. Though Mac has been busy competing full-time on the World Cup circuit, he's managed to gather an arsenal of clips that would impress any rational human. His versatility as a skier is second to none. With Forehand in front of the lens and Price behind, "Duo" is bringing everything we want to the table, and more.
Featuring: Mac Forehand
"Mimic"
Arc'Teryx, Hadley Michaels, Piper Kunst
From the trailer alone, it's easy to tell that "Mimic" will be a standout film this fall. From the creative minds of Hadley Michaels and Piper Kunst, the film blends surrealism, experimental filmmaking, art, and skiing to create what feels like a Dali-inspired acid trip turned ski film. If that doesn't get you excited, I'm not sure what will. By exploring what it means to create and the process of forging something out of nothing, "Mimic" begs us to reconsider how we look at skiing, and the benefits of a life lived through artful expression.
Featuring: Piper Kunst
"After the Snowfall"
Matchstick Productions
Matchstick's 2025 feature film looks to blend relatability with mind-blowing talent, asking us all why we ski in the first place. Whether you're riding an Alaskan spine or just hopping onto the lift at your local resort, the end goal is typically the same: we're here to push ourselves, to explore, and to have fun doing it. With traditional filming styles and incredible skiing, "After the Snowfall" is another crowd-pleaser from MSP.
Featuring: Mark Abma, Dennis Ranalter, Logan Pehota, Craig Murray, Janelle Yip, Nico Porteous, Jess Hotter, Finn Bilous, Ben Richards, Tonje Kvivik, Marcus Goguen, John Rollins, Nadine Wallner, Coline Ballet-Baz, Michelle Parker, Caite Zeliff, Sam Cohen, Xander Guldman, Sam Smoothy, Karl Fostved, Parker White, Nikolai Schirmer, Jacob Wester
"VORTEX"
OS Crew
The OS Crew is back with their 10th annual ski film. "VORTEX" showcases the highs and lows of street and backcountry riding, giving us the full picture of why skiing is worth doing in the first place. With spring kicker sessions and mid winter pow in the mix, we're excited to see what the OS Crew has in store this year.
Featuring: Mason Kennedy, Kyle Johnston, Trevor Hattabaugh, Ben Moxham, Ian Russell, Graham Gray, Anton Holter, Josh Kärcher, Jack Feick, Nikolay Dobrianov, Lucas Sizzla, Danner Brummer, Colin Dexter, Nathan Goddard, Chris Colgan, Keegan O'Brien, Juice Kennedy
"Cold Calls"
Blank Collective
Salomon has given rise to a lot of great things over the years, but the Blank Collective is one of our favorites. With seven Salomon skiers taking center stage, "Cold Calls" is another high-octane Blank film that delivers crisp cinematography and (somehow) even better skiing. Few other projects are sure to offer a combination of speed and style like this one.Â
Featuring: Emma Patterson, Alexi Godbout, Jacob Belanger, Alex Armstrong, Bernt Marius Rorstad, Josh Daiek, Wyatt Gentry, Tom Peiffer
"til guan"
Variance
Street skiing and kickers have never looked better. "Till Guan" comes from the Variance crew, with director Jack Benziger working his magic behind the camera. Small but mighty, this group hit the streets hard last winter and has the evidence to show for it.
Featuring: Matt Donahoe, James Pouch, Chris Colgan, Owen Ready, Zach Shuster, Lucas Blanch
