In skiing, there’s so much noteworthy stuff going on that the word “epic” should be used lightly. But this video, folks, is f*cking epic.
It follows Marcus Caston and McKenna Peterson as they travel and ski Iceland’s magnificent landscapes, captured entirely with a top-notch RED SCARLET-W camera. Every shot is reminiscent of the jaw-dropping landscapes featured in Game of Thrones, considering a large portion of the hit TV show has been filmed at similar Icelandic territories.
This video is a submission for the REDirect Explore 2016 contest, in which “Hand-selected cinematographers from around the globe have been challenged with creating, capturing and editing a captivating outdoor adventure lifestyle story,” according to its official site. All particpants were given RED SCARLET-Ws to film their submissions, and the winner—chosen through online voting—gets to keep their camera, as well as a ton of accessories all worth about $35,000 total. The second place submission will also get to keep their camera, and that alone is worth $9,500.
And you thought saving up for a GoPro was ambitious…
