Freeskiing stars and athletes stayed overwhelmingly close to home this winter past as borders remained closed. They explored their back yard playgrounds and opted for mini golfing over big heli-accessed lines. But a lucky few, like Peter Ostroski, happened to live in the big mountain Disneyland of Girdwood, Alaska, and were able to access massive lines under human power right from their front doors. WITHIN REACH is the story of Ostroski’s season, a different, scrappy kind of Alaskan ski flick that’s devoid of heli bumps and a massive film crew. With just a filmer and a few buddies, he assessed his way through copious cold and dry snow to skin toward massive lines, within reach of his Girdwood home. This is a different kind of ski film, but one that gets us stoked for golden light and big lines with just skis and skins on our feet.
