Look Pivot 2.0 18 Blue Steel
The Look Pivot 18 has long been the binding of choice for aggressive freeskiers who demand precise retention. The new Pivot 2. 0 updates the classic design without compromising what has made it a cult favorite. New this season, the 2. 0 heel piece has a Phillips-head DIN screw for easier adjustment, a 15-mm boot sole length range for swapping boots without a remount, and reinforced heel bumpers for better handling of edge abuse. You still get the signature, turntable heel for multi-directional release, 45 mm of elastic travel in the toe and a stout DIN range of 8 to 18.

Marker Jester X 16 M-Werks
Marker took its top-tier freeride binding and gave it the full M-Werks treatment (read: lightweight and high performance). The new iteration comes in at just 1,130 grams per binding, thanks to a sleek, one-piece toe housing and the addition of lightweight magnesium in key locations. Additionally, it features the lowest stack height out there with a 9-mm toe and 14-mm heel, which means quicker edge engagement and better boot-to-ski power transmission, especially with low-volume boots. The redesigned chassis is shorter, allowing your ski to flex more naturally, while the brake tucks in tighter to the heel piece to reduce drag.

Salomon Strive 14 MN
The Strive 14 MN is one of those pieces of gear you don’t really think about while you’re using it, thanks to its light weight (just under 1,000 grams per binding), low profile and steady ride. The wide platform provides strong lateral power transmission, especially when you’re laying it over on firm snow. In the rear, the three-part heel feels stout, but not overbuilt, as stepping in and out is easier than some comparable bindings on the market. The DIN runs from 5 to 14, and the binding is compatible with alpine, GripWalk and ISO 9523 touring soles. If you’re looking for a lightweight binding that doesn’t compromise stability or downhill confidence, the Strive 14 MN won’t disappoint.
